Although you can play all sorts of tricks with lighting and perspective (and I do love to), there are times when all you need is a bench and two very, very happy people. It's simple, but it works - simple is good!
It's been a very busy couple of weeks, so yesterday I decided to go wandering over the Downs as I haven't had much chance lately. There are some fantastic poppy displays around, some of the best I have seen for years. I found this one a couple of miles south of Firle Beacon:
It was such a wonderful day (finally) that I got a bit carried away and ended up doing a 15 mile round trip and despite being a bit tired I think it was worth it!
It's great to have something a bit different to photograph every now and then and when it comes to different it's hard to beat a Goth wedding. Although professionally I could never be one and personally have no inclination in that direction either, it's a look that I find fascinating and could photograph until the vampire bats come home.
Deans Place in Alfriston is one of the most popular wedding venues in Sussex. One of the many things I like about it is that even after dark, you still have lots of photo opportunities, ideal if you have a winter wedding!
